Historical significance (include explanation of themes checked above) The original landowner was John Estabrook. In 1808, Eli Robbins bought the property (2-3/4 acres) which included "the frame of a building." The next owner (from 1808 to 1813) was Samuel Russell (Book 179, p. 404) . Russell may have been the first occupant of the house. Jonathan Burr, clockmaker, bought the house in 1831 for $900 (Book 305, p. 33) . In 1850, it was owned by Kendrick and a tenant by the name of Schwartz had a bake shop in an attached shed on the east side. Two physicians, Dr. James J. Walsh and Dr. Glen? Short have lived and maintained offices here, from 1913 until 1968. Capt. Wm. Phelps owned it at one time and rented in out (in the 1660s) . Source: Edwin H..
