Col. Sullivan Burbank served 27 .years in U. S. Army. Died during Civil War years.
This was a double house for many years; two family as far back as 1835
when Capt. and Airs. Wm. Phelps rented one-half and the other half was lived in
by the owner, Col. Sullivan Burbank.

From Canavan Papers: 1806 map shows no house on the land owned by S. Hunt;
1808 Canavan map indicates house of J. Hunt.
In 1830, the house was "occupied by Huntington" who ran a private school.
Jonathan Hunt was a wheelwright and practiced his vocation in a converted school-
house (Mason Hollow School) , which stood west of his house.
