House probably altered W. Italianate details after death of J. Harrington. Note heavy lintels on door with small brackets. Descrip. cont. Jonathan Harrington, whose military record and funeral services are well documented, was a chairmaker and furniture repairer, whose workshop stood "beside the road nearly in front of his house" (Proceedings of the Lexington Historical Society, volume II, p. 42) . He was self-taught as a furniture maker, and his chairs, reflect this! (Several pieces are in the collection of-the Lexington Historical Society, plus a charcoal portrait of him executed when he was an old man.) S.
