HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE:
According to E.B. Worthen, this was the home of Harrison Pierce(1813-1894),his wife Harriet and son Harry. Census
records in 1860 list Harrison as a farmer but later became a town laborer. Harry worked for various local milkmen. The
house is labeled as being owned by the H.Pierce Estate on the 1906 map.
[Note: the 1853 map has a house belonging to H.Pierce shown on the opposite side of the road. Could this be an error?]
About 1924 this was the home of Byron and Katherine Russell. He was a blacksmith.
