evaluate in terms of other buildings within the community.)
This Greek Revival Vernacular cottage is one of the few nineteenth century
buildings on the street to retain its original finishes. It is a well preserved
example of the one-story-plus nineteenth century cottage found frequently in
the Woburn Street area, but relatively rarely elsewhere.
HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE (Explain the role owners played in local or state
history and how the building relates to the development of the community.)
For over 30 years in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth
century, this house was occupied by Miss Louisa Angier. The Angier family
first came to Lexington in the late eighteenth century and resided on Burlington
Street.
