ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION
Describe architectural features. Evaluate the characteristics of the building in terms of other buildings within the
community.
Constructed in 1954-1957, 35 Hillcrest Avenue is a single-story, side-gabled Ranch-style dwelling which rests on a concrete
foundation. The main block is five bays wide and is built on a slightly sloping site, resulting in an exposed basement window
on the south end of the facade. The house displays a stone veneer exterior with brick quoining flanking the sides of the
windows and doors. The projecting, gabled porch is constructed of cobblestone with rough marble-like rocks in the gable.
The fenestration has all been replaced and includes a new front door and individual and paired 1/1 windows with a tripartite
unit adjacent to the entrance.
To the right of the original house is a two-story addition consisting of a concrete block garage on the lower level with an
upper level which is sheathed in vinyl siding with two bays of paired 1/1 windows.

Iozzo. He was a contractor. The couple lived in Roxbury prior to and during the construction of this house, which took from
1954 to 1957. The property was purchased by Frank and Lucy Woods in 1958.
