This building replaced Lexington's 3rd. meeting house which had started on the green.
Remodeling by Isaac Melvin(of the older meeting house had been substantially completed
by Dec,. 1846, when that building burned to the ground. The present church, also by
Melvin, replaced the earlier structure.
