(Staple additional sheets here) ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE (Describe important architectural features and evaluate in terms of other buildings within the community.) This house is larger, slightly more elaborate than the other houses built speculatively on Bloomfield Street. Features include a cross gable roof, several bay windows, and an expansive entrance porch with polygonal end decorated with turned posts and segmentally-arched frieze trim. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE (Explain the role owners played in local or state history and how the building relates to the development of the community.) This was one of the few houses to be built on Bloomfield Street after adjacent Munroe Hill was opened up for house lots. Its size may reflect its builder, Abram C. Washburn's desire to match the more substantial houses being constructed on the new streets. Upon completion, Washburn sold the house to Henry Wood Lewis who worked as a clerk at Kidder, Peabody and Company in Boston.
