ARCHITECTURAL DESCRIPTION:
Describe architectural features. Evaluate the characteristics of this building in terms of other buildings within the community.
134 Bedford Street is a 1 %2-story side-gabled Bungalow with a front porch recessed under the front roof slope. The house is set
on a stone foundation and sheathed in vinyl siding. The overhang of the roof is supported by six Doric columns resting on a low
wall. Under the porch the center entrance is flanked on either side by two windows. A shed dormer spans the front roof slope.
The windows on the house have been replaced with modern 1/1 sash. To the west of the house is a single-car, gablefront garage
constructed of novelty siding.
HISTORICAL NARRATIVE
Discuss the history of the building. Explain its associations with local(or state)history. Include uses of the building, and the role(s)the
owners/occupants played within the community.
This house occupies lot 27 of George Tewksbury's 1910 subdivision(Plan Book 195,Plan 45). The original owners appear to
have been Ossian and Genevieve Tuttle who were occupying the house in 1913. He was employed as a clerk at the American
Express Company. By 1932 Alex Ohlson was living here with his wife. The property was later sold by Catherine Watt to
William Kinklis(Book 7148,Page 150). It is still owned by members of the family today.
