Members Not Present Glen Bassett, Carol Flynn, Mary Hutton, Cerise Jalelian, Paul Jenkins, Sondra Lucente, Wayne Miller, Bill Mix, Henry Murphy, Geetha Padaki, Gina Rada, Sue Stering, Bob Tracey, Dave Taylor, Sam Zales. Business • The Chair reported that a quorum was present. • The minutes of the meeting of April 11, 2018, were approved. • The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at the Community Center. Patriots Day, Monday, April 16, 2018 • Lorain requested that the committee approve paying Williamsburg Fife & Drum Corp the fee they charged for participating in the Patriots' Day events. The committee approved the payment. • Suzanne reported that all the Gold, Silver, and Bronze level sponsors were contacted to ask them how they wanted their sponsorship contributions to be handled, since the parade was cancelled. Only 3 sponsors asked for refunds. The rest chose either to make their contributions donations to the parade fund or to have their contributions be credited toward sponsorship for the 2019 parade. Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, 2018 • Lorain gave the parade information to Kim for forwarding to the Lexington High School Marching Band director. • Linda announced that Ed LoTurco had agreed to be Grand Marshal for the parade. • Although the CAALS group offered to march in the Memorial Day parade, the committee determined that their dragon dance performance would not be appropriate for the occasion. It was suggested that CAALS apply to perform at Discovery Day. • The committee discussed holding the Memorial Day ceremony in Cary Hall, rather than on the Green. The sense of the committee was that it would be best to hold the ceremony on the Green and only move it to Cary Hall in case of rain. In case of rain, the ceremony would start at 10 am in Cary Hall. The meeting was adjourned at 8:OOpm. Respectfully submitted, Suzanne Caton, Co-Secretary Future Meetings: 05/16/18, 05/23/18, 06/06/18.
