Comprehensive Plan "Your Lexington" meeting recap
Review of event.
Sentiment Analysis Review and Part 2
CPAC and Staff placed comments under Comprehensive Plan headings during the last meeting. David
prepared table summarizing results of plan components. Comments are meant to be take-aways for
further study as Comp Plan process continues.
Missing from the table: Crematorium should be part of the discussion—mentioned at the session; Board
of Selectman looking into it. Improvements at Westview Cemetery- potential option. Freestanding
building and prayer hall—add to good governance section of Sentiment Analysis. Cuts across various
headings.
Sentiment Analysis Part 2-Strengths and Opportunities
Cut up comments and tape up under plan component headings
Synthesized comments into similar sentiment analysis—to be typed up and distributed at the next
meeting
Other Business-Logo subcommittee
Christina Burwell (local artist) submitted a more refined version of her earlier proposed logo.
Discussion of the sketchier logo.Think the latest one is too detailed—may not reproduce well.
Hema also solicited an artist that was too busy to help—hasn't heard back
Discussion of potential revisions to the submitted logo:
• Remove year since it is a multiple year project
• Should the building be more representative of Cary Hall?—current sketch could be identified as
a barn, house or other structure
• Remove circle
Another idea for sketch:view of Mass Ave looking west at the Minuteman Statue? Minuteman statue
may not be the best representation of where we are going?
Preference for original pen sketch—will reforward email to CPAC and staff
Slogan or no slogan?Come up with ideas for the next meeting
Carol will communicate conversation to Carol Sue—one of them will get in touch with Christian about
revisions
Approval of minutes
Cant approve b/c not enough CPAC members at this meeting were at the June meeting
World Cafe Events -dates Sep 25; Oct 23; Nov 27. Carol Kawolski briefed committee on process. Roles
will be defined after meeting with the consultants. May need help from CPAC with facilitation. CPAC
members are encouraged to participate in one cafe.
Next scheduled meeting for CPAC—Aug 28
Stacey B. made a motion to adjourn.
Seconded by Sarah F. at 8:56 pm.
