HomeMy WebLinkAbout2018-05-01-CPAC-min COMPREHENSIVE PLAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES May 1, 2018 The meeting of the Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee (CPAC), held in the Parker Room, 1625 Massachusetts Ave, was called to order at 7:04p,by Co-Chair Sarah Felton. CPAC members: Deepak Amenani, Stacy Beuttell, Matthew Daggett, Sarah Felton, Marilyn Fenollosa, Camille Goodwin, Leonard Morse-Fortier, Christian Senna, Patrick Sullivan, and Ruixi Yuan were present. The CPAC meeting was also attended by Town Staff David Fields and David Kucharsky, and Selectman Joe Patto. GENERAL UPDATE & STAFF UPDATE Upcoming Meeting Dates: May 29—Housing Panel 92 (7pm) Rm 237 at the Community Center May 30—Hartwell Ave Rezoning Project(7pm) Battin Hall June 4—CPAC Kickoff Event(7pm) Battin Hall(CPAC asked to be there at 6:30pm); Howard Stein Hudson will facilitate the meeting. May 21 or May 23 —Economic Development panel 92 (7pm) location TBD Aaron Henry leaving his position as Town of Lexington Planning Director; He is moving on to a new position with the Town of Danvers. The CPAC will be asked to attend a meeting with Jeff Dietrich from Howard Stein Hudson on either May 22 or May 23 at 7pm—This meeting will be held in preparation for June 4 kickoff event. A CPAC member has resigned; the spot will be filled. LEAD CONSULTANT PROPOSALS****************** Two RFP responses received; respondents were Howard Stein Hudson and VHB; Staff will distribute RFPs and evaluation criteria to the CPAC. Staff will plan to interview candidates with representatives from the Planning Board, Board of Selectmen, CPAC, and the School Board. Minutes for the Meeting of January 5, 2017 Page 2 BRANDING & MARKETING Howard Stein Hudson and VHB RFP responses indicate they are capable of developing branding and marketing. CPAC is in favor of commissioning a local artist to creating design/branding. The CPAC proposed forming a sub-committee to identify a local artist to design a logo for the Comprehensive Plan; Proposed sub-committee members: Hema Bhatt, Carol Sue Hai, Leonard Morse-Fortier; Sub-committee tasks: seek out artists (preferably pro-Bono), evaluate responses and select a design. ACTION: on a motion duly made and seconded the Commission voted to form a sub-committee to identify a local artist to design a logo for the comp plan. All approved. **********COMPREHENSIVE PLAN "YOUR LEXINGTON" MEETING********** Jeff Dietrich from HSH prepared a draft event plan to staff that was reviewed by CPAC. CPAC proposed having an information table at Discovery Day on Saturday, May 26. OTHER BUSINESS How do we fill the vacancy on the CPAC? - Staff will make a recommendation based on applications received. Question raised by CPAC: How do we as a committee connect with younger generation in town to include their feedback in this plan? High schoolers and 25-35 year old's? APPROVAL OF MINUTES****************** ACTION: on a motion duly made and seconded the Commission voted approve the minutes from the March 27 meeting of the CPAC. All approved.
