Historic Districts Commission
Commissioners in attendance: Ian Adamson, Mark DiNapoli, Joann Gschwendtner, Lynn
Hopkins and Stephen Politi; Associate Commissioners:, Dan Fenn, Daniel Griffin, and Eleanor
MacQueen.
The minutes of November 4, 1999 were approved.
PETITIONS HEARD:
One Meriam Street — Via Lago Pasta — Gerard Frank representing Al Jick of Via Lago received
approval to move doorway over one bay using same configuration and door. Also received
approval for an awning on Mass. Avenue (dark green with gold lettering to match others on
Mass Avenue). Also agreed to not have signs in windows. Certificate No. 99C -80
2027 Mass. Avenue — Dana Home — Steve Hurley received approval in concept only for addition
of elevator, turning porch into room, alter portion of fire stair, redo landscaping, signage.
Hearing continued for final approval of detailed drawings.
1357 Mass. Avenue — Rick Bechtel, representing Will and Lauren Spielvogel, received approval
to build detached garage and addition to back of home. Certificate No. 99C -81
CONTINUED HEARINGS
31 Curve Street — David and Bill Rothfuchs discussed with Commission the type of window they
prefer and what kind of detail they would need. Continued for details.
INFORMAL HEARINGS
1088 Mass. Avenue — Don Sullivan asked about demolishing and rebuilding a garage and also
adding landscaping and redoing walkway.
Battle Green/Harrington Road — Town Manager Richard White updated the Commission on the
work being done. Mr. White agreed to do the following: paint the curb around Minute Man a
dirty white and take off reflectors; remove yield sign with blinking light; and work with
Commission too find a better spot or remove the large sign in front of Minute Man. Lynn
Hopkins will work with Town.
1116 Mass. Avenue — Randall Conrad and Christine Dall asked the Commission about windows
for porch.

1 -15 Judges Road — Alan Slawsby, representing Pine Grove Village, asked the Commission
about window replacements. Will return for formal hearing.
The Commission welcomed a new associate, Mr. Daniel Griffin, Jr.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
