HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-12-03MINUTES OF DECEMBER 3, 1998 Town of Lexington Historic Districts Commission Commissioners in attendance Ian Adamson, Mark DiNapoli, Joann Gschwendtner, Lynn Hopkins and Steve Politi; Associate Commissioner: Walter Bergler. PETITIONS HEARD: 1557, 1575 and 1605 Massachusetts Avenue (School Administration Building, Police Building and Cary Hall) — David Carbonneau presented plans for re- roofing these structure. The Commission approved the changes which included ridge and eave vents. Certificate 98C -93. 13 Meriam Street. 1749 Massachusetts Avenue and 1821 Massachusetts Avenue — Terry Courtney of Bell Atlantic sought approval of logos on the pay phones at these locations. The enclosures had never been approved. The hearing was continued to allow Bell Atlantic to return with information on the enclosures. 1853 Massachusetts Avenue — (Candy Castle) Barbara Doherty requested permission to put out a metal knight at the corner of her store. The request was granted provided the knight is placed at the corner off of Town property. Certificate 98C -94. 46 Bedford Street — (Battle Green Shell) Steve Politi stepped out for this hearing, Mark DiNapoli took over as chairman. Paul Bilafer proposed covering the end gables in vinyl siding. There was not support on the Commission for this proposal so Mr. Bilafer said he would do only maintenance work. The hearing was continued to allow the franchise owner to come in and seek approval for various items on the property. 1963 Massachusetts Avenue - Ann Adley sought approval for storm windows. They were approved. Certificate 98C -95 1387 Massachusetts Avenue — Douglas McDonald received approval for moving a shed in his backyard. Certificate 98C -96. CONTINUED HEARINGS: 36 Bedford Street — (Stop & Shop) Gerry Frank asked to substitute a window design in the front of the store. It was approved. Certificate 98C -97. 10 Woburn Street — This hearing was continued as the petitioner was unable to attend. 1776 Massachusetts Avenue — (US Trust) Steve Politi stepped out for this hearing, Mark DiNapoli took over as chairman.
