PETITIONS HEARD: 1998 Massachusetts Avenue — Douglas Hobbs presented plans for remodeling an existing staircase which would include exterior work. The Commissioners felt that the plans were not detailed enough nor was there enough specific information on materials. Mr. Hobbs chose not to continue the discussion and left the meeting. The petition was denied. 98 -54. 1139 Massachusetts Avenue — John McHugh represented Kathy and Peter Long who are adding to an existing deck. The addition was approved. Certificate 98C -55. 1265 Massachusetts — (Mark DiNapoli stepped out for this hearing.) Greg Gaklis of the Gold Star Nursery presented plans for a seasonal sign "Christmas City at" to be added to the existing freestanding sign. It was approved. Certificate 98C -56. 669 Massachusetts Avenue — Brian Silverman is doing lead paint abatement. The Commission approved the replacement of the windows. The hearing was continued to allow shutters to be approved if it became necessary to replace them. Certificate 98C -57. 7 Muzzey Street — Joyce Quinn presented plans for a projecting sign for the Face & Body Spa. The sign was approved. The hearing was continued to allow consideration of the bracket. Certificate 98C -58. 20 Vine Brook Road — Beth and Bob Darabant showed plans for an addition to the rear of their house. The plans as presented were approved. The hearing was continued to allow review of the placement of air conditioning compressors. Certificate 98C -59. 13 Hancock Avenue — Chris Hall represented Jim O'Connor. He presented plans for an addition which were approved. Certificate 98C -60. 755 Massachusetts Avenue — Michael Procopio represented Nextel which was seeking approval of the screening of air conditioning units at the Folien Church. The hearing was continued. CONTINUED HEARINGS: 73 Waltham Street — Bell Atlantic received approval of a wall sign. Certificate 98C -61. 1690 Massachusetts Avenue — No one showed to present this petition. 55 Waltham Street — Bill Ericson presented plans for a dormer in the back wall. It was approved. Certificate 98C -63. 60 Forest Street — Deborah Paisner submitted specifications for the doors and windows to be used in the previously approved addition. Certificate 98C -64. 36 Bedford Street — Tom Fenn presented signs for the Stop cX. Shop. They were approved. Certificate 98C -65. 10 Woburn Street —Brian Moore presented plans for the remediation shed to be constructed on the property of the Gingerbread Construction Company. The shed was approved. Certificate 98C -66. 41 -19 Waltham Street — Aban Makarechian the architect for Guardian Savings showed plans for the renovation to the building. 1912 Massachusetts Avenue — Bill Ericson informed the Commission of the Hancock Church's plans for renovation work.
