HISTORIC DISTRICTS COMMISSION
Minutes of the November 6, 1997 Meeting
Commissioners in attendance: Ian Adamson. Richard Bechtel, Walter Bergler, , Mark DiNapoli,
Joann Gschwendtner, and Eleanor MacQueen. Mr DiNapoli was elected acting chair
PETITIONS HEARD.
One Bedford Street- George Comtois and David Wells presented the proposal of the Histoncal
Society to place a sign directing people to the gift shop and ticket sales. It was to be mounted on
the back of the building. The Society will consider a free-standing sign. The hearing was
continued.
703 Massachusetts Avenue -John Ellis presented conceptual plans for additions to the.building to
allow its use as a high school. The Historic Districts Commission is not opposed to adding to the
site but it is not m the position to approve concepts. The hearing was continued.
1949 Massachusetts Avenue - The Tremblays are replacing their roof. The shingle type and
color were approved. Certificate No. 97C-79
763 Massachusetts Avenue - Mart Ojamma presented plans to replace the roof. The shingle color
and type were approved. Certificate No. 97C-80

Depot Sauare/Emery Park - Barbara Lucas presented a schedule holder for LexPress. It was
approved. Certificate No. 97C-81
Lexington Center Committee. Bench Placement- Pat Doherty sought approval for a bench to be
installed on Worthen Road. The location was approved. Certificate No. 97C-82.
34 Hancock Street- Bruce McCarthy presented a change to the previously approved dormer It
was approved. Certificate No. 97C-83.
1628 Massachusetts Avenue - Kevin Fraser presented a projecting sign. The sign was approved
to be mounted hanging on the porch. Certificate No. 97C-84.
