HomeMy WebLinkAbout1997-06-056/5/97 The Lexington Historic Districts Commission met at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 1997, in the Selectmen's Meeting Room of the Town Office Building. Present were the following Commissioners: Stephen M. Politi Mark DiNapoli Joann Gschwendtner and the following Associate Commissioners: Walter Bergler, Jr. Eleanor MacQueen Elaine Doran Sara Chase The Commission took action on the following applications for Certificates of Appropriateness (see attached pages): Paul Ardito, 975 Massachusetts Avenue, East Village District, with respect to the construction of a garage. Robin Millman, 40 Hancock Street, Hancock - Clarke District, with respect to the installation of a trellis. The hearing for Barbara Lucas, representing the Transportation Advisory Committee, Depot Square /Emery Park, Battle Green District, was continued until 7/3/97 at the applicant's request /inability to attend. Jim Nihan, representing US Trust, 10 Depot Square, Battle Green District, with respect to the erection and display of signage. Peter Manickus, 803 Massachusetts Avenue, East Village District, with respect to the erection and display of signage. Greg Gaklis, d /b /a Seasons Four, 1265 Massachusetts Avenue, Munroe Tavern District, with respect to the erection and display of signage. Warren Chafe, 1109 Massachusetts Avenue, East Village District, with respect to the installation of vinyl siding. The hearing for George and Meg Kimball, 57 Forest Street, Battle Green District, was continued until 7 /3/97 at the applicant's request /inability to attend. David Anmahian, representing Bank Boston, 1761 and 1793 Massachusetts Avenue, Battle Green District, with respect to the erection and display of signage. Chris Connor, 1430 Massachusetts Avenue, Munroe Tavern District, with respect to landscape changes. Eric Kondo, 956 Massachusetts Avenue, East Village District, with respect to the installation of a fence. Bruce McCarthy, 34 Hancock Street, Hancock - Clarke District, with respect to exterior architectural changes. The application of the Spaulding Management Corporation for 1646 Massachusetts Avenue was approved in part; voting in this decision were Commissioners Stephen Politi, Mark DiNapoli and Joann Gschwendtner, and Associate Commissioners Walter Bergler, Jr. and Eleanor MacQueen. Also present and participating in the discussion were Associate Commissioners Elaine Doran and Sara Chase. The applicant shall return on 7/3/97. The application of the Spaulding Management Corporation for 1656 Massachusetts Avenue was approved unanimously; voting in this decision were Commissioners Stephen Politi, Mark DiNapoli and Joann Gschwendtner, and Associate Commissioners Walter Bergler, Jr. and Eleanor MacQueen. Also present and participating in the discussion were Associate Commissioners Elaine Doran and Sara Chase. The applicant shall return on 7/3/97 to present information regarding the installation of a handrail on the stairs located at the side of the building. The application of Dorothy Green was approved unanimously; voting in this decision were Commissioners Stephen Politi, Mark DiNapoli and Joann Gschwendtner, and Associate Commissioners Walter Bergler, Jr. and Eleanor MacQueen.
