Present were Commissioners John L. Davies, Chair; Linda J. McAulay, Secretary; Roland B. Greeley, and Ann Wallace, and Associ- ate Commissioners Stephen B. Cripps and Albert T. Pitt. Mr Tony Platt, on behalf of Sidney Noyes Anderson, Inc., showed the Commiss- ioners a series of color samples that had been applied to the building. The Commissioners were joined by a group of abuttors from Russell Square, including Stephen and Catherine Bianchi, Edith Caldwell, Jack and Jeanette Simon, Rita Wildes, John Butler Smith, and Barbara Gilson who also attended in her capacity as clerk of the Commission. The first color shown was the gray, represented by a sample on the rear of the building. Mr. Davies suggested that the shade of gray be considered first, and then the areas where it was to be applied. Mrs. McAulay observed that gray was a very tricky color, but she felt this one was acceptable. Approval of the gray was VOTED with Mr. Davies, Mrs. Wallace, Mrs. McAulay, Mr. Cripps, and Mr. Pitt in favor and Mr. Greeley abstaining. It was noted that the shade of pale yellow or cream had been approved earlier, and it remained only to agree on how it was to be applied. There followed a presentation and discussion of how the two colors were applied to the various elements of the building. The first area considered was the westerly end of the building, which was VOTED with Mrs. McAulay voting against. The second are was the front of the building. There was particular discussion on the pilasters, capitals, and the wood lintels over the windows. The pattern of gray and yellow as shown was VOTED, except the lintels shall be painted yellow with the windows rather than gray with the other "structural" elements. Mrs. McAulay voted against and Mrs. Wallace abstained. The overall pattern of color on the rest of the building was VOTED unanimously. Mr. Platt then showed a dark green, Sherwin Williams ExBM8-8, to be used on the doors. This too was VOTED. Finally, Mr. Platt submitted a revised drawing for the porch addition on the southwesterly corner of the building. This drawing showed brick as the wall material, wood trim, and an iron railing. All of these materials shall match similar materials used or existing elsewhere on the building. Approval was VOTED. The meeting was adjourned at approximately 10:30 AM. Linda J. McAulay Secretary
