HISTORIC DISTRICTS COMMISSION
A meeting of the Historic Districts Commission was held on Wednesday,
December 16, 1981, in the Selectmen's Meeting Room, Town Office Building,
Lexington. Present were Commissioners John R. Packard, Chairman; S.
Lawrence Whipple, Secretary; John L. Davies; Roland B. Greeley; and Asso-
ciate Commissioners Linda J. McAulay, Richard S. Morehouse, and Molly Nye.
At 8:05 P.M. the Commission listened to The Gift Cellar presentation
concerning a projecting sign for a store in the basement at 7A Meriam
Street (Giroux Building). The sign will resemble a similar one on the
Massachusetts Avenue side of the Giroux Building, and after a brief dis-
cussion it was VOTED to approve it.
At 8:25 P.M. the Commission reviewed the request of the 1775 Wine &
Spirit Shop for a sign over the rear entrance at 1775 Massachusetts Avenue.
This sign will resemble others on the front of the store, and again after
a short discussion the Commission VOTED to approve it.
The customary bills for clerical services were received and approval
VOTED.
The meeting concluded with an informal presentation by Mr. Leonard J.
Colwell of plans for an addition to his real estate office at 4 Vine Brook
Road. This will be the subject of a formal hearing in January.
The meeting xas adjourned at 9:05 P.M.
