Present were Commissioners John R. Packard, Chairman= John L. Davies: Roland B. Greeley; Ann Wallace; S. Lawrence Whipple: and Associate Commissioners Richard S. Morehouse and Howard C. Nasoa. At 8:00 P.M. Mr. Emanuele Coscia presented the request of th® Town of Lexington for the installation of combination storm windows on the front of the Town Office Building and the Visitor's Center. The xindows are of a kind approved on numerous other buildings and accordngly it was VOTED to approve them for these buildings too. At 8c15 P.M. Mr. Ronald Witty appeared for the First Baptist Church xith a request to erect a wood stockade fence at the rear of the Church premises between the backyards of the parsonage and the day care play area. This Fencing will replace 3' high welded fencing which no longer meets state safety requirements for children's play areas. After brief discussion it was VOTED at 8:25 P.M. to approve the stockade fencing. Several members took the occasion to compliment Mr. Witty for the xonderful job the Church has done in widening the driveway and restoring the parsonage. At 8:30 P.M. Paul E. Hartle of Photo Craft presented drawings of a proposed projecting sign for his business at 1640 Massachusetts Avenue, the Cycle & Ski Loft building. The double-faced sign would hang on the Massachusetts Avenue facade on the East Lexington end of the building. The Commission xas not opposed to the idea of a projecting sign for this location, but thought that the frame was too ornate. They also xondered how it would coordinate with other signs soon to be erected, according to Mr. Slack, owner of the building. It was suggested that the applicant and Mr. Slack return at the Commission's next meeting xith a simpler frame and perhaps with ideas as to what other sagas are going to be requested. Accordingly no action was taken on the application. The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 P.M. John R. Packard Chairman I
