HISTORIC DISTRICTS COMMLSSION
A meeting of the Historic Districts Commission was held on Wednesday!
November 20, 1974, in Room ili, Town Office Building, Lexington, Present
were Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith, Chairman; Donald J. Shaw; S. Lawrence
Whipple; and Associate Commissioners Ruth B. Adams, Oliver F, Hooper, and
Amalia G, Samoylenko, Mrs, 5amoyylenko was appointed to serve for Commis-
sioner Georgia H, Williams who was unable to be present; Mrs, Adams was ap-
pointed to serve for Commissioner Thomas J. Holzbog who was unable to be
present; and Mr, Hooper was appointed to serve for Commissioner S, Lawrence
Whipple who was unable to serve on the first hearing, Mr, Shaw moved that
Mrs, Samoylenko serve as Secretary Pro Tem, seconded by Mr, Hooper, and so
VOTED,
An adjourned hearing was held at Ss00 P, M, on the application of the
Lexington Historical Society. There was discussion on the shed, carriage
house, and roof peaks, A draft of a Certificate with respect to the erec-
tion of a wing addition to the Hancock-Clarke House as relocated on the
premises at 36 Hancock Street, which is within the Hancock-Clarke District,
was presented, The Commission voted to approve the Certificate for the ad-
dition to the Hancock-Clarke House presented to the meeting and prepared in
accordance with the vote of the Commission at its meeting on November 13r
1974. Participating in this decision were Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith,
and Donald J, Shaw; and Associate Commissioners Amalia G, Samoylenko, Ruth
B, Adams, and Oliver F, Hooper,
Commissioner S, Lawrence Whipple assumed his seat.
It was moved, seconded,. and unanimously VOTED to issue a Certificate of
Appropriateness to James C, and Robin D, Orr with respect to the erection of
fencing on the premises at 1 Oakland Street, which is within the Battle Green
District, Participating in this decision were Commissioners Wilbur M, Jaquith,
Donald J, Shaw, S, Lawrence Whipple, and Associate Commissioners Amalia G,
Samoylenko and Ruth B, Adams,
It was moved, seconded, and unanimously VOTED to issue a Certificate of
Appropriate s to Peter S, and NTaria W. Nelson with respect to the erection
of fencing ~ the premises at 3 Oakland Street, which is within the Battle
Green District. Participating in this decision were Commissioners Wilbur M,
Jaquith, Donald J, Shaw, S, Lawrence Whipple, and Associate Commissioners
Amalia G, Samoylenko and Ruth B, Adams.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:45 P, M,
