HISTORIC DISTRICTS COMNJISSION
A meeting of the Historic Districts Commission was held on Wednesday,
February 23, 1972, in Room G15 of the Town Office Building, Lexington, at
7i~5 P.M. Present were Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith, Chairman; Philip
B. Parsons, Secretary; Donald J. Shaw; Georgia H. Williams; and Associate
Commissioner S. Lawrence Whipple.
Mr. Jaquith submitted a Certificate of Appropriateness for the proposed
building of The Lexington Mews Trust at 1012 Muzzey Street and considerable
discussion ensued, with no action being taken at this time.
At 9s10 P.M. an informal meeting was held with Paul 3ignorelli and
Edith Sayre, Real Estate agent, regarding the erection of fencing for the
property at 3 Tower Road which Mr. Signorelli planned to purchase. The
fencing would have round posts and be a rail cedar fence, left to weather in
its natural state and was to be installed for the Signorellis' dog. A hasty
ing on this matter was scheduled for 8100 P.M. on Wednesday, March 15, 1972.
The meeting adjourned at 9t3a P.M.
It was moved, seconded., and unanimously VOTED to issue a Certificate of
Appropriateness to Salvatore Vella for the erection, maintenance, and display
of a sign for the store at 1796 Massachusetts Avenue. Participating in this
decision were Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith, Philip B. Parsons, Donald J. ~
Shaw, Georgia H. Williams, and Associate Commissioner S. Lawrence Whippl®.
It was moved, seconded, and unanimously VOTED to issue a Certificate of
Appropriateness to Carlton House Trust for the erection and display of two
directory signs for the building at 19 Muzzey Street. Participating in this
decision were Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith, Philip B. Parsons, Donald J.
Shaw, Georgia H. Williams, and Associate Commissioner S. Lawrence Whipple.
It was moved, seconded, and unanimously VOTED to issue a Permit for De-
molition or Removal to Leonard J. Colwell for the garage on the premises at
4 Vine Brook Road. Participating in this decision were Commissioners Wilbur
M. Jaquith, Philip B. Parsons, Donald J. Shaw, Georgia H. Williams, and Asso-
ciate Commissioner 5. Lawrence Whipple.
