HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-04-08 411 MINUTES OF ADJOURNED MEETING FIELD ON APRIL 8, 1968 The Lexington Historic Districts Commission held an adjourned meeting on Monday, April 8, 1968, in the Comptroller's Office, Town Office Building. Members present were Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith, Chairman, Ruth G. Bevan, Secretary, Pro Tempore, Max H. Straw and George E. Graves and Associate Commissioner George W. Emery. Hearing was held at 7:45 P.M. on the application of Robert O. Tillinghast for a Permit for Demolition or Removal of the barn on the premises at 465.475 Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the East Village District. Discussion was held on the scale drawings of the proposed restoration and on the Plot Plans showing the relation of the barn in location to other structures on the pro• perty. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to issue a Permit to the applicant. No other persons having appeared, the adjourned hearing was closed at 8130 P.N. Bevan Secretary, Pro Tempore April 17, 1968 TOWN OF LEXINGTON to- aa Massachusetts z 7. a I 02173 r ^' HISTORIC DISTRICTS COMMISSION PERMIT FOR DEMOLITION OR REMOVAL This Permit is issued pursuant to Chapter 447 of the Acts of 1956, as amended, to Robert 0. Tillinghast for the demolition or re- moval of the barn on the premises at Nos . 465-475 Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the East Village District . This Permit is issued subject to the following conditions which, if the Permit is acted upon, shall be binding upon the applicant, the owner of the property and his successors in title: 1. The only building and structures to be demolished under this Permit are the barn and related structures outlined in red by C . Harry Erickson as shown on scale drawing entitled "Plot Plan Land in Lexington, Mass ." dated Nov. 24, 1967 by Miller & Nylander, Civil Engineers and Surveyors, 114 Waltham Street, Lexington, Mass . submitted to the Commission at the adjourned hearing held on April 8, 1968. 2. All portions of the dwelling at No. 475 Massachusetts Avenue exposed by the demolition or removal of the barn and related structures are to be boarded up within 48 hours after such exposure and shall remain boarded up pending approval by the Commission of plans for restora- tion of said dwelling and the issuance by the Commission of a Certificate of Appropriateness therefor, 3. All portions of the barn and related structures demolished under this Permit which are not to be used in connection with proposed buildings on the premises or for fill on the premises are to be removed within 10 days after completion of the demolition or removal and the premises are to be left in a clean and orderly condition.
