The Historic Districts Cemmissi•n met at the time and place
specified in the public notice of hearing en the application for a
Certificate of Appropriateness by the Lexington Sister City Com-
mittee with respect to the erection and display of a sign en the
premises at 13 Depot Square, which is within the Battle Green District.
Members present were Commissioners Wilbur M. Jaquith, Chairman,
Philip B. Parsons, Secretary and George E. Graves and Associate
Commissioners Carl F. Bryant, George W. Emory and Donald B. White.
The Chairman read the letter of application and the notice of
hearing. Mesdames Crethers and Masters appeared in behalf of the
Committee. Mrs. Crethers presented drawings of the sign and photo-
graphs of its proposed location. Since, new, a standing sign was
being considered the Chairman advised Mrs. Crethers t• check with
the Building Inspector and requested her to return at 8:45 P.M. to
the next meeting en April 3. N• ether persons having appeared, the
hearing was adj•urned at 8:10 P.M.
Hearing was held at 8:15 P.M. on the application of Hebert 0.
Tillinghast with respect to the restoration and alterations of the
existing dwellings at Nes. 465 and 475 Massachusetts Avenue and the
erection of.. two addi.tienal_twe-famJ.y dwellings on the same premises
and the application for a Permit to Demolish or Remove the existing
barn and shed en said premises, which is within the East Village Dis-
trict, The Chairmanrread the letter if application and the notice of
hearing. The applicant appeared with his Architect, Harry Erickson
and presented Plot Plans and scale drawings et the proposed develop-
mint. Mr. Tillinghast' s original application was denied by the
Beard of Appeals. He has re-filed with the Beard of Appeals and a
hearing will be held on March 26. The plans he submitted t• the Com-
mission at the March 21 meeting are those that he will present to
the Appeals Board. At 8:55 P.M. request was made by the Chairman
to adjourn the hearing in progress fir twenty-five minutes to consider
the following application which was scheduled for hearing at 9:00 P.M.
Hearing was held at 9:00 P.M. en the application of Wilson Farm,
Inc. f•r an amendment with respect to the exterior architectural
features of the two-family dwelling at 556 Massachusetts Avenue re-
ferred to and described in Certificate if Appropriateness No. 230
issued by the Commissien on August 29, 1967, which is within the East
Village District. Donald Wilson appeared and presented Piet Plana
showing the new set-back and side yard specifications. Upon motion
duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to issue an amended
Certificate to the applicant. No other persons having appeared, the
hearing was closed at 9:10 P.M.
