The Historic Districts Commission met at the time and place specified in the pablic
~tice of the hearing on the application of Feeland Realty for a Certificate of Appropriate-
mess with respect to the erection and dispAay of a sign on the premises at 27 Depot Squ3e,
which is wi thin the B~ tie Green District.
Present were ~iTilbur M. Jaquith, Chairman, Phil ~ p B , Parsons, Secretary, Ruth ~k• Bevan,
George E. Graves and Max H. Straw.
The chairman read the notice of hearing and the letter of application. Appearing in
behalf of the application was Mr.ll~ard who ansarered questions asked by the commission members.
Since Mr. YPard did not have a scale drawing of the proposed sign, it was agreed that the
hearing be adjourned until February 23, at which time there would be a scale drawing of
the sign available. The hearing was adjourned at 7:~5 P,I~,
Hearing was held at 7:t~5 r.DC. on the application of Mathematical A pplications Group
Incorporated for a Certificate of Appropriateness with respect to the erection and display of
a sign on the build ing at 1762 Massachusetts ,Avenue, which is within the Battle Green District.
The chairman read the notice of hearing and the letter of application. Appearing in
behalf of tke application was Mr. Yfilliam D. Canning, who presented the commission with a
scale drawing of the proposed sign. The commission members asked Mr. Fanning questions reg-
arding the sign, and the hearing was adjourned at 9:05 P.k~.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTID to issue a Certificate
of Appropriateness to Mathematical Applic ationa Group Incorporated with respect to the erection
and display of a sign to be erected on the second floor level of the front elevation of the
building at 1762 Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the Battle Green District.
Hearing was held at 8:05 P. M. on the application of New England Telephone and Telegraph
Coompany for a Certificate of Appropriateness with respect to a proposed second floor additim
to the existing building at 73 l~altham Street, which is within the Rattle Green District.
Ths chairman read the notice of hearing and the letter of application. Appearing in '
behalf of the application was Mr. '~.lliam D. Sommers of the Telephone Compar~q and Austin J.
Cribben of Hoyle, Doran and Berry, Architects, Mr. Cribben presented the commission with
scale drawings of the proposed addition, schedule of exterior finish and phota~;raphs. uany
questions were asked by the commission members. The hearing was adjourned a t10:35 P.~.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to issue a Certificate
of Appropriateness to NexrEngland Telephone and Telegraph Company with respect to the
erection of a second floor addition to the existing building at 73 Waltham Street, w hick is
within the Battle Green District.
The chairman stated that he had received h1.ls from Minute fan Publications add Elizabeth
Adam. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to process these bills
for payment.
Mr. Straw stated that there w®re corrections to be mad® in Certificates No, 191, 192
and 193. The clerk will correct these certificates accordingly.
The chairman stated that there will be a meeting on Friday, February 2i~, 1967, with
regard to the application of First Parish Church.
