HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-01-11 • January 11, 1967 The Historic Districts Commission met at 7:30 P.M. in the Town Accountant' s Room to further consider the application of Marilyn Mamilton for a0ertificate of Appropriate— sness for the erection of a dwelling at 2015 Massachusetts Avenue. Present were Wilbur M. Jaquith, Chairman, Philip B. Parsons, Secretary, RVth G. Bevan, George E. Graves and Max H. Straw. The plans were discussed by those present and a list of specifications of t he proposed building were also discussed. Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness to Marilyn Hamilton with respect to the erection of a single family dwelling with two—car garage attached on the lot at the northwesterly corner of the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Worthen Road, said lot being number 20115 Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the Battle D ri t The meeting was adjourned at 9x15 P Philip . Parsozs Secretary January 19, 1967 The Historic Districts Commission met at the time and place specified in the public notice of the hearing on the application of Lexington Federal Savings and Loan Association for a Certificate of Appropriateness with respect to the erection and display of Signa at 1832 — 140 Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the Battle Green District. Present w ere Wilbur M. Jaquith, Chairman, Philip B. rarsons, Secretary, lath G. Bevan, George E. Graves and Max H. Straw. The chairman read the notice of hearing and the letter of application. Mr. Gardner C. Ferguson appeared in behalf of the bank and presented the commission with scaled drawings of the four proposed signs. Mr. Ferguson was fsked many qusstioa by the commission members. The hearing was adjourned at 9:29 P.M Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED to issue a Certificate of Appropriateness to Lexington Federal Savings and Loan Association with respect to the erection and display of four signs for the ie w and altered building referred to in Certificate No. 187 issued December 10, 1966, at 1832 — 1810 Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the Battle Green District. The chairman stated that the next meeting of the commission will be held on February 1, 1967, relative to the application of First Parish Church. A meeting will be hell on February 8, 1967, relative to the application of Joseph Trani Incorporated, and a meeting rill be held on February 15, 1967, relative to application a of Leeland Realty, MAGI, and New England Telephone and Telegraph Company. All meetings will be held at 7:30 P.M. The chairman read a letter raceisrad from Blair Perry, Attorney for Battle Green Apartments, and showed the commission the enclosed photographs regarding the Stop & Shop property. Mr. Jaquith stated tha he had written a letter to Mr. Passinissi sregarding the situation. It was agreed that the movable items mentioned did not come under the jurisdiction of the Historic Districts Commission.
