The Historic Districts Commission met at 7:15 P.M. in the Selectmen' s
Room, Town Office Building. Present were Donald R. Grant, Chairman, Philip B.
Parsons, Secretary, Ruth Bevan, George E. Graves and Associate Commissioner Max H.
Straw.
Present at the meeting were Mr. John Sarasin, General Manager of Henri
Hairstylists, and Mr. Passinnissi of Stop & Shop Inc. Mr. Sarasin presented the
commission with three copies of the proposed sign to be erected on the premises at
34 Bedford Street. Mr. Passinnissi stated that Stop & Shop Inc. had w proved the
erection o the sign. Many questions were asked by the commission members.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED to issue a Certificate
of Appropriateness to John P. Sarasin, General Manager, and d/b/a Henri Hairstylists
with respect to the erection and display of a new sign on the premises at 34 Bedford
Street, which is within the Battle Green District.
Also present at the meeting was Mark Moore Jr. Mr. Moore stated that he
had been unable to attend the hearing on March 9, and submitted to the commission a
new set of scale drawings and phttographs showing the porch on the dwelling on
Lots B and 3A on Eliot Road. Many questions were asked Mr. Moore by the commission
members. The chairman stated that this porch would be visible from a public street
or way. He further stated that he had received a telephone call from an abuttor who
objected to the porch, but the abuttor declined to state his name.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED to issue a Certificate of
Appropriateness to Moore Homes, Inc., with respect to an amendment to Certificate
No. 153 issued by the commission under date of January 6, 1966, with respect to the
dwelling on Lots B and 3A on Eliot Road, which is within the Munroe Tavern District.
The chairman stated that he had received a letter from Alan G. Adams,
regarding his property on Meriam Street. It was agreed that Mr. Adams meet with
the commission at 8:15 P.M. on April 6, 1966.
The chairman stated that he had received a letter from Herbert Bogan
of the Design Advisory Committee for Lexington Center, and stated that this letter
was to be published in the Lexington Minute Man.

This certificate is issued pursuant to Chapter 447, Let* and Resolves of
Maeeadsueatta, 1946, as mended, to Moore doses, Ins. with respect to an amendment
