The Historic Districts Commission met at 7:15 P,~~i, in the Seleetmen~s
Roomy Town Office Huilding. Present were Donald R. Urant, Chairman Philip B,
Parsons, Seeretary~ Ruth Bevan, George E. Graves and Associate Commissioner Max H.
Straw.
Present at the meeting were Mr. John Sarasin, General Manager of Henri
Hairstylists, and Mr, Passinnissi of Stop & Shop Inc. Mr. Sarasin presented tho
commission with three copies of the proposed sign to be erected on the premiss at
34 Bedford Street. Mr. Passinnissi stated that Stop & Shop Inc. had ~ proved the
erection o_ the sign. Many questions were asked by the commission members.
Upon motion duly made and seconded it was VOTED to issue a Certificate
of Appropriateness to John P, Sarasin, General Managers and d~b~a Henri Hairstylists
with respect to the erection and display of a nee sign on the premises at 3!~ Bedford
Streets which is within the Battle Green District.
Also present at the meeting was Mark Moore Jr, Mr. Moore stated that kie
had been unable to attend the hearing on Maroh 9, and submitted to the commission a
new set of scale drawings and photographs showing the porch on the dwelling on
Lots B and 3A on Eliot Road. Many questions we~e asked Mr. Moore by the commission
members. The chairman stated that this porch would be visible from a public street
or way, tIe further stated that he had received a telephone call from an abuttor who
objected to the porch but the abuttor declined to state his name.
Upon motion duly made and seconded it was VOTED to issue a Certificate of
Appropriateness to Moore Homes Inc. with respect to an amendment to Certificate
No. 153 issued by the commission under date of January 6, 1966, with respect to the
dwelling on Lots B and 3A on Eliot Roads which is within the Munroe Tavern District,
The chairman stated that he had received a letter from Alan G. Adams,
regarding his property on Meriam Street. It was agreed that Mr, Adams meet with
the commission at 8115 Y.M. on April 6, 19bb.
The chairman stated that he had received a letter from Herbert Bogen
of the Design Advisory Committee for Lexington Centers and stated that this letter
was to be published in the Lexington Minute Man.
