The Historic Districts Commission met on February 9, 1966, at S:00 r.1at.
in the Selectmen' s Room, Town Office Building.
Present were Donald R. Grant, Chairman, Philip B. Parsons, Secretary, Ruth G.
Bevan, George E. Graves and Wilbur M. Jaquith and Associate 'ommissioner Max H.
Straw.
Also present at the meeting were Mr. Bernard Healy of Architectural Associates
and Mr. Passinissi of Stop & Shop Inc. Mr. Healy presented the commission with a
revised drawing of the proposed sign to be used in connection with Imperial Cleaners
at 32 Bedford Street. Questions were asked Mr. Healy by the commission members.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VGTM) to issue a
Certificate of Appropriateness to Samuel Kniznick, d/b/a Imperial Cleaners, Inc.
with respect to the erection and display of a sign on the premises at 32 Bedford
Street, which is within tree Battle Green District.
The chairman stated that a letter had been received from Mark Moore, Jr.,
requesting an amendment tp the certificate of appropriateness previously issued
with respect to the dwelling at 5A Eliot Road. Hearing will be held on March 9,
1966. f�
The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 .

CERTIFICATE OF APPROPRIATENESS
This certificate is issued pursuant to Chapter 447, Acts and
Resolves of Massachusetts, 1956, as amended, to Samuel Knisnick, d/b/a
Imperial Cleaners, Inc., with respect to the erection and display of
a sign en the premises as noted below, at 32 Bedford Street, which is
within the Battle Groom District.
The dimensions, layout, legend, location, style and sic. of the letters,
together with the building materials of the said sign all appear am a
drawing entitled "Identification Sign Imperial Cleaners of Lexington
Stop & Shap Center Bedford St., Lexington, Mass." scale in gm l'0"
dated January 6, 1966, ea revised February 7, 1966, which was submitted
to the commiesioa at the ad eurned hearing held on the application en
February 9, 1966. The intensity of the illumination is net to exceed
that of the Stop & Shop sign previously approved for the Bedford Street
elevation of the premises at 36 Bedford Street.
