The Historic Districts C®mmission met at $t00 P.I. in the Selectmena
Room, Tovm Office Huilding. Present xere Philip B. Parsons, Secretary,
Wilbur M. Jaquith, Ruth Bevan, George E. Graves and Associate Commissioner
B~ax H. Strax. The chairman being absent from the meeting, upon motion
duly made and seconded, it was vOTl'D that 1~*ilbur I~. Jaquith be elected
Chairman Pro Tempore.
Present at the meeting xere John W. Silva or Stop & Shop Inc. and
Devid ~ewyer of University Sign Company. Mr. Silva and fir. Sawyer shored
the commission the proposed changes in signs to be used in connection xith
t}~a tax Stop and Shop building and the proposed conveyor to be used on the
exterior of the building. They xere advised that a public hearing will be
held on Wednesday, February 2, 1966 at $xls P. M. for amendment of their
®~dsting certificate of appropriateness for the installation of an exterior
pick
up conveyor and for a change in signs for the premises xhich front on
both Bedford Street and Udorthen Road.
At 8150 P.R4. the commission met with Ernest Giroux, William Welsh,
George Matheson and Otis Brown, all representing Bginute Man Park Realty
Treat, in connection xith their proposed building on the corner of Mass-
achusetts Avenue and ~eriam Street. Also present was B6r. Robert Neiley, architect,
rho showed the commission a seals drawing of theB~assachu~tts Avenue side
of the proposed building, and a perspective shoring th® vier of the building
from the library. zany questions xere asked those present by the commission
members. It was agre®d that~r. Giroux submit a formal application for a
certificate of appropriateness and a hearing xould be held on February 16, 1966.
