The Historic Districts Commission met at the time and place specified
in the public notice of the hearing on the application of Paul Stetson,
for a Certificate of Appropriateness for changes in the exterior architectural
features of the existing dwelling at 33 Hancock Street, which is within the
Hancock--Clerke District.
Present were Donald R. Grant, Chairman, Philip B. Parsons, Secretary,
Ruth Bevan, George E. Graves and Wilbur M. Jaquith.
The chairman read the letter of applica=ion. Mr. Stetson appeared in
his own behalf and answered questions asked by the Commission members. A.
set of five drawings was shown to the members, and the hearing was adjourned
at 8:20 P. M.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED to issue a certificate
of appropriateness to Paul Stetson with respect to the erection of an addition
to the northerly elevation of the existing dwelling at 33 Hancock Street, which
is within t he Hancock—Clerke District.
Mr. Wilbur M. Jaquith was excused from the meeting, and Associate
Commissioner Max H. Straw was present for the remainder of the meeting.
Mr. Raymond Scheublin, President, Lexington Trust Company, appeared in
behalf of the application of Lexington Trust Company for a certificate of
appropriateness, the hearing of which was held on May 5, 1965. Mr. Scheublin
presented the commission with a set of three scaled drawings of the propos:d
addition and alterations to the present bank building. Many questions were
asked Mr. Scheublin and the hearing was adjourned at 8:4.5 P. M.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED to issue a certificate
of appropriateness to Lexington Trust Company with respect to the alteration
and erection of an addition to the southwesterly end of the existing bank building
located on the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Muzzey Street, which is
within the Battle Green District.
The meeting was adjourned at :3/5 P. :4.
