The Historic Districts Commission met at 8:00 P. M. on Wednesday,
March 18, 1964, in the Selectmen's Room, Town Office Building.
Present were Donald R. Grant, Chairman, Philip B. Parsons,
Secretary, Ruth Bevan, Wilbur M. Jaquith and Associate Commissioner
William B. Hoyt.
The purpose of the meeting was to reconvene for further discussion
on the application of Ellen M. Sullivan, doing business as Colonial
Coffee House, for a certificate of appropriateness of a sign to b e
erected on the premises at 29 Depot Square, which is within the Battle
Green District,
Appearing on behalf of the applicant was Mr. Leach, an architect,
from the office of Charles H. Cole. Mr. Leach showed the commission
a full size layout of the proposed sign. There was much discussion on
the lettering to be used in this sign and questions were asked. It was
agreed that Mr. Leach discuss the proposed sign with Mrs. Sullivan and
bring a new drawing to the commission on Mardh 25, 1964, at 8:30 P. M.
The meeting was adjourned at8a�M.
