HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-02-24 • February 24, 1964 The Historic Districts Commission met at 8:00 P. M. on Monday, February 24, 1964, in the Conference Room, Cary Hail. Present were Donald R. Grant, Chairman, Philip B. Parsons, Secretary, Ruth Bevan, George E. Graves and Wilbur M. Jaquith. The chairman read the letter received from Lester N. Lechter Associates Inc. with regard to the application of Rayco Realty Trust for a certificate of appropriateness. Hearing will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 1964, in the Selectmen's xoom. Also present at the meeting was Mr. Lester N. Lechter, Architect, who presented the commission with scale drawings of the proposed building to be discussed at the public hearing on March 4, 1964. Mr. Lechter gave a brief description of the building, and the commission members asked questions. The chairman read a letter received from Mr. Robert Meyer of the Planning Board, dated February 7, 1964, which enclosed a notice of two zoning proposals. The Planning Board requested a recommendation of the Historic Districts Commission on each proposal„ Also present at the meeting were Mr. I. W. Douglas of Sanscott Corporation and Mr. Norman Richards, Lawyer, in behalf of Lexington Plaza Realty Trust, who showed the commission the proposed zoning change as it applied to their property on Worthen Road. Various questions were asked by the members of the commission. On motion made and duly seconded, it was unanimously VOTED that the commission inform the Planning Board in writing that the commission feels that it is not within its function to make recommendation withrespect to proposed changes in the zoning by-laws.
