The Historic Districts Commission met at the time and place specified
in the public notice of the hearing on the application of Lexington Trust
Company for a certificate of appropriateness for the illumination of an
existing sign at 1822 Massachusetts Avenue, which is withinthe Battle
Green District.
Present were Donald R. Grant, Chairman, Philip B. Parsons, Secretary,
George B. Graves, Ruth Bevan and Wilbur M. Jaquith.
The chairman read the letter of application dated November 18, 1963.
Present in behalf of theapplication was Mr. Mark Moore, a member of the
Board of Directors of Lexington Trust Company. The commission members
viewed the three photographs submitted with the application and asked
Mr. Moore various questions. The hearing was adjourned at 8:25 P. M.
The commission suggested that the bank contact electricians regarding
the lighting of the sign a nd report back to the commission at its next
meeting on January 8, 19613.
Mr. I. W. Douglas, Trustee, of Lexington Plaza Trust, presented the
commissionrdth an application for a certificate of appropriateness for
permission to demolish a garage building located at 36 Bedford Street and
a two—family house and shed located at 140 Bedford Street. Hearing will be
held on Wednesday, January 8, 1964, at 8:00 P. M.
