The Historic Districts Commission met at the t ime and place specified
in the public notice of the hearing on the application of Theatre Camera,
Inc., for a certificate of appropriateness for the erection and display of a
sign on the building at 1810 Massachusetts Avenue, which is within t he Battle
Green District.
Present were Wilbur M. Jaquith, Philip B. Parsons, Secretary, George E.
Graves, and Associate Commissioners Carl E. Bryant and William B. Hoyt. The
chaireanbeing absent from t he meeting, upon motion duly made and seconded,
Wilbur M. Jaquith was unanimously elected Chairman Pro Tempore for the meeting.
The chairmanxead the letter of application and the notice of hearing.
Present in behalf of the application vas Mr. Peter Bach of Theatre Sound Shop.
The commission members viewed the scaled drawing of the proposed sign, which
was submitted to the commission with the application. Various questions
were asked by the members. The hearing was adjourned at 8:25 P. M.
Upon motion duly made and a econded, it was unanimously VOTED to grant
to Theatre Pharmacy, Inc., a certificate of appropriateness with r aspect to
the erection and display of a sign for its Theatre sound Shop at 1810
Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the Battle Green District.
Hearing was held on the application of Helen C. Bertini for a certificate
of appropriateness for the erection of an addition to the existing dwelling
at 1341 Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the Munroe Tavern District.
The chairman read the letter of application dated November 12, 1963, and
the notice of hearing. Present in behalf of the application were Miss Helen
C. Bertini, Mr. Ben Bertini, and Mr. Richard J. Foley, Builder. Mr. Foley
presented the commission with a set of scaled drawings of the proposed
additions, and two photographs of the dwelling at the present time.
Questions were asked the applicant and the builder by the commission members.
The hearing was adjourned at 9:10 P. M.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to grant to
Helen C. Bertini a certificate of appropriateness with respect to the
erection of additions to the existing dwelling at 1311 Massachusetts Avenue,
which is withinthe Munroe Tavern District.
It was stated that application had been received from Lexington Trust
Company for a certificate of appropriateness. Hearing will be held on
Thursday, December 19, 1963, in the Selectments Rocco, at 8:00 P. W
