The Historic Districts Commission met at the time and
place specified in the public notice of the hearing on the
• application of Clifford G. Hunt, D.M.D . for a certificate or
appropriateness for changes in the exterior architectural features
of the building at 14iluzzey Street, which is within the Battle
Green District.
Present were Donald R . Grant, Chairman, Philip kJ. Parsons,
Secretary, Ruth Bevan, George E . Graves, and Wilbur 1'i. Jaquith.
The chairman gave a brief summary of the bacx\grcund oz
the application, and read the letter of application. Dr. Llifford
G. Hunt and Dr. Hobert W . Crooke were present in behalf of the
application, and presented the coir,arzisuion with four photographs
showing the location of the air-conditioning units in question.
Vricus questions were asked by the members of tree commission.
The hearing was adjourned at 8: 25 P. A.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED that the
commission approve the installation of four air conditioners on
the walls of the first floor of the hunt building on condition
that new evergreens be planted not later than May 15, 1964, in front of
the three conditioners having a height of at least even with the
top of each air conditioner in front of which the shrub is installed
subject to public view from Muzzey Street, said evergreen to have
sufficient height within or year from the date of planting to
fully shield the units behind them from public view from i'luzzey greet.
The chairman stated that he had received a letter from the
Appropriations Committee with regard to the ni^toric Districts
Commission expenditures for 1964. It was agreed that $400 be
requested for the coming year.
It was stated th t the next hearing will be held on,
Wednesday, November 6, 1963, at 8: 00 P. M. in the Selectmen s boom
regarding the application of The Reorganized Church of JesuS
Christ of Latter Day Saints for a Certificate of Appropriateness.
The meeting was adjourned at 9: 20 P. M.
