HomeMy WebLinkAbout1963-03-26 March 26, 1963 The Historic Districts ~%ommission met at the time and place specified in the public notice of the hearing on the application of Russell Carroll, d/bfa Lexington Cleansers & Dyers, for a certificate of appropriateness for the display of a sign at 1806 Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the Battle Green ~ istrict. Present were llonald R. Grant, chairman, Philip D. parsons, Secretary,. Wilbur Jaquith, Ruth Bevan and Associate ~ ommissioner Carl E. Bryant. l~.e chairman read the correspondence received from Mr. Carroll. 'i'he commission members viewed the slide of the sign, and various questions were asked Mr. Carroll. On motion made and deconded, it was unanimously VOTED to grant to nussell Carroll, d/b/a Lexington cleansers & Dyers, a certificate of appropriateness with respect to the continued display of a portion of the existing sign at 1806 Massachusetts Avenue. Hearing was held at 8:15 P• M. on the application of ~:ymond E. houdreau, `t'rustee of Rayco Realty Trust for a certificate of appropriateness for proposed changes in the exterior architectural features in the building to be erected on Lot C on the southerly side of Worthen Road, and for certain proposed signs to be erected and displayed in connection with said building, which is within the Battle Green District. Appearing in behalf of the applicatioa::,were Raymond Boudreau, Trustee, and Lester N. Lechter, Architect. Also present were two engineers from xemington Company, who showed the commission members air-conditioning units which they intended to use in the building. Also presented to the co:rnnission was a new sample of brick to be used in the proposed building. Mr. Lechter showed a scale drawing of the proposed temporary sign to be displayed during the construction of the building. The commission meaubers asked various questions. On motion made and seconded, it was unanimously Y©TED to grant to naymond E. Boudreau, Trustee of nayco Realty ~rust,a certificate of appropriateness fczr changes in the certificate of appropriateness previously issued on November 7, 19b2, w~4th respect to the erection of the office building to be-constructed on Lot C on the southerly side of Worthen Road, :,~hich is within the Rattle Green District. On motion made axui. seconded, it was unanimously VOTED to grant to Raymond E, Loudreau, trustee of Rayco nealty Trust, a certificate of appropriateness for the erection and display of a temporary sign on and for use in connection with the building to be constructed on Lot C on the southerly side of Worthen naafi, which is within the Eattle Green llistrict.
