M. on Wednesday, October 5, 1960, in the belectmen Office, Town Office Building, Lexington. • Present were Donald R. Grant, Chairman, Philip b. Parsons, Secretary, Donald E. Legro, Cyrus wood, and Associate member '-harles H. Cole. Hearing was held at 8:00 P. M. on the application of Lexington Theatre for a certificate of appropriateness as to the continued display of the exis +ing sign at 1794. Massachusetts Avenue, which is within the Battle Green District. The chairman read the published notice and the letter of application. Mr. Arthur Howe, representing Mr. Feeley as Manager of Lexington Theatre, appeared in behalf of the application. questions were asked by various memoers of the commission. The applicant expressed himself as being content to have the commission consider his application as consisting of separate applications for each of the four signs appearing on the colored p hotograph which were discussed at the hearing and which appear in the colored slide in the files of the conilnission, and which were aiscussed at the hearing. he four signs specifically discussed were the illuminated sign approximately eight feet by four feet over the doorway to the theatre and used for advertising the motion picture currently displayed; the sign bearing the words "The Lexington" also located over the doorway; and the two separate attraction displays approximately fourteen inches by thirty -six inches located on the front wall on either side of the doorway. Hearing was adjourned at 8 :10 P. M. Hearing was held at 8.15 P. K. on the applicationn.
