The Historic Districts Commission met at the time
and place specified in the public notice of the hearing on
the application of the Lexington Historical bociety,acting
through Mr. Edward S, Munro,for a certificate of appropriateness
for the erection of a tool shed on the premises of the Munroe
Tavern, Sitting on the Commission were Donald R. Grant,
Chairman, Donald E. Legro, Philip B. Parsons, Cyrus Wood, and
Edwin B. Worthen, Jr.
The chairman reported that earlier in the evening he
had had a telephone call from Mr. Munro in which the latter
stated that he wished to withdraw the application in question,
There being no one present at the meeting to speak either in
favor of or against the application, it was unanimously voted
to deny the application without prejudice to the filing of a
further application for the purpose in question by the
Lexington Historical Society.
Mr. Robert Kent, representing the First Parish Church,
( Unitarian) presented application for permission to change
the color from white to black of the door referred to in the
certificate of appropriateness previously granted.
MEETING: It was moved that subject to the receipt of a
written application therefor, the commission determine` that:
it would be appropriate to permit the First Parish Church
(Unitarian) to change to black the color of the door and door-
way referred to in the certificate of appropriateness
previously granted to the church under date of June 12, 1959.
The Commission VOTED to adopt the motion, Mr. Wood abstaining
from voting.
