The Historic Districts Commission hold a pubiio hearing Tuesday, June 25,1959
at 7 :30 P.N. in the Seleotmen's Room, on the application of the Barrett Press
fora oertifisate for ehanges in wording of existing sign at 21 Depot 3q. whioh
. is within the Battle Green District. Sitting on the Commission were Dexter A.
Smith, Chairman, Philip B.Parsons, Floyd J.Taylor, Donald R.Grant and Aaao.iats
Member Carl E.Bryant. Present was Mr.Robert Barrett.
Mr.Smith read the notion. Yr.Barrett said he was heartily in favor of the
Commission and had thought be was definitely in order in merely changing the
wording of an already existing sign. When Lexford Realty moved out, he thought
he sonld put in the words "Letterpress and Offset" in the panel and be O.H.
In answer to a question, he said there were already outside lights. After some
discussion and on looking at a rough sketch ¥r.Barr.tt drew, the Commission took
a recess of 10 minutes and went up and looked at the signs on Mr.Barrett's building•

MBSTING:
After a short dissuasion, it was moved and unanimously voted: VOTE: It was
unanimously voted to issue a sertifioatemof appropriateness to ¥r.Barrett
(The Barrett Press) for ohamges in wording of the existing sign at 21 Depot Sq.
and the Chairman was directed to sign the C.rtifisat. of Appropriateness as
prepared.
SIGNS: A short and general discussion of signs in the Distriot was held.
HANCOCK CHURCH: A general discussion was held on the epprosehi hearing on
the Hancook Church.
