HomeMy WebLinkAbout2018-07-12-SSCTM-min TOWN MANAGER SEARCH SCREENING COMMITTEE MEETING Monday, ,July 12, 2018 A meeting of the 'Town Manager Search Screening Committee was called to order at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018 in the Robbins Room, Cary Memorial Building. 'The members and liaisons present were as follows: Mr. Kelley, Chair; Mr. Lucente, s. 'Thompson, Ms. Colburn, Mr. Creech, Ms. Vine, Mr. Colatosti, Ms. Kumar, Ms. Lin, Mr. Michelson, and Mr. Lamb and Ms. Hai (via remote participation). Mr. Kelley informed the Committee that Ms. Hai would be participating in the meeting via conference call due to significant geographical difficulties. Also Present: Mr. Gould and Mr. Stapczynski, Municipal Resources Inc. (MRI). A ove June J ] 2018 Minutes par, The Committee agreed to move this item to a future agenda for approval since several members had not reviewed the ,June 11, 2018 minutes. Other Business 0 Update from Consultants Mr. Gould and Mr. Stapczynski gave an update on the candidate process. They stated MRI received applications from 42 candidates from fourteen states with 26 of the candidates being from Massachusetts. 'The candidate pool was then narrowed down to seventeen, to whom MRI would send essays to be due by,July 23, 2018. While the candidates worked on the essays, MRI would perform background checks on them. The full candidate submittals would be sent to the Town Manager Search Committee on ,July 27, 201& Mr. Kelley asked what criteria was used to narrow the candidate pool from 42 to 17 and Mr. Gould replied that their criteria was based on a scoring system. 0 Planning for Interviews Mr. Gould asked that each member of the committee begin to formulate their questions for the panel interviews. He further asked that they not discuss the questions amongst each other as that could potentially affect viewpoints on how candidates answered questions. 0 Confirm Future Meetings and Interview Dates The Committee confirmed that they would meet with MRI on August 6, 2018 to discuss candidates, facilitate consensus and prepare the Committee for onsite panel interviews.
