PLANNING BOARD MINUTES
MEETING OF JANUARY 20, 1987
The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board held in Room G-15, Town Office Build-
ing, was called to order at 7:42 p.m. by the Chairman, Mrs. Uhrig, with members
Cripps, Klauminzer, Sorensen, Wood, Planning Director Bowyer, Assistant Planner
Rawski and Secretary Peters present.
********************* ARTICLES FOR 1987 TOWN MEETING ****************************
17. Technical Corrections: Mr. Sorensen will present the article. The Board
reviewed the draft dated 1/6/87. In section A6), the Board agreed the revised
wording should be written out as it will appear in the Zoning By -Law, if adopted by
Town Meeting. In section PB8), they agreed the phrase "to the connector road"
should be added after .... "not more than 650 feet in length".
18. Jumbo Houses: Mrs. Klauminzer will present the article. The Board reviewed
the draft dated 1/20/87. Mrs. Klauminzer questioned whether this article might not
discourage the use of cluster subdivision option. The Board agreed this revision
should apply only to conventional subdivisions.
19. Swimming Pools: Mr. Cripps will present the article. The Board reviewed the
most recent draft. They agreed the phrase "and self -latching" should be added to
the last sentence in subparagraph d which deals with self-closing gates around
Pools.
20. Projections Into Yard Setbacks: Mrs. Wood will present the article. The
Board reviewed the draft dated 1/21/87. Mr. Sorensen suggested the wording be
simplified and tightened up.
21. Housing Resolution - Emerson Gardens: Mrs. Klauminzer will present the art-
icle. The Board reviewed the draft dated 1/20/87. The Housing Advisory Committee
will also review the draft at their meeting tomorrow evening.
22. Comprehensive Commercial Revision: The Board completed review of the revised
TABLE I, PART B COMMERCIAL USES draft dated 1/13/87, and began review of the TABLE
I, PART A RESIDENTIAL AND INSTITUTIONAL USES draft dated 1/13/87. In the course of
the review, a number of changes were agreed to.

23. Planning Board, Subcommittees:
a. Chamber of Commerce: Mrs. Uhrig announced the Board has been invited to
meet with the Chamber of Commerce this Thursday, 1/22/87, to discuss the
Comprehensive Commercial Revision.
24. Planning Director:
a. Subdivision action: Mr. Bowyer reported the State Legislature has passed
a bill extending the time for action by the Board on subdivision applications
from 60 days to 135 days.
