Mrs. Wood arrived during Item 296. ARTICLES FOR 1987 TOWN MEETING 295. Reserving Space in the Warrant: The Board reviewed a draft of a letter to the Board of Selectmen requesting that places be reserved in the warrant for five articles dealing with zoning amendments. Mr. Sorensen requested that the amend- ment dealing with roof overhangs and building projections, requested by the Board of Appeals, be a separate article. While the article may be inserted as a cour- tesy for the Board of Appeals, he questioned in how many instances that has been a problem. It was agreed that the letter should be revised to request that the Board of Selectmen reserve places for six articles which propose amendments to Zoning By - Law. 296. Comprehensive Commercial Revision: The Board worked on a draft of Table I Permitted Uses and Development Standards. Initially, the Board worked on the classification of uses including operating characteristics, development characteristics and permitted uses, in relation to the CN neighborhood business district. A number of revisions were agreed upon to improve readability and to eliminate situations which might not be applicable in Lexington. The Board made preliminary designations of which uses, operating characteristics and development characteristics would be permitted in the CN district by right or by a special permit. In working on Table I. the Board referred to the description and purpose of districts contained in "Quickie Guide to Reclassification of Commercial Dis- tricts" to be sure that the designations were consistent with the purposes of the districts. It was agreed that the Board will hold a public hearing on part of the com- prehensive commercial revision on Thursday, January 15, 1987. A notice will be placed in the December 18 and 25 editions of the Lexington Minuteman. The meeting was adjourned at 10:32 p.m. C. W d qd ,,l1 ,q/ Martha Wood, Clerk 1
