HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-06-10283 PLANNING BOARD MINUTES MEETING OF JUNE 10, 1982 The meeting -of the Lexington Planning Board, held in Room G-7, Town Offices, was called to order at 7:35 p.m. by the Chairman, Mr. Sandy, with members Nichols, Smith, Sorensen and Uhrig, and Planning Director Bowyer present. 87. ARTICLES FOR 1982 ANNUAL TOWN MEETING Article 53, Muzzey Junior High Property: The Board reviewed a final draft of the LO report on Article 53. John Gallagher of Elgin Associates and Donald Gillespie, N architect for the development, were present. Several suggestions and changes were made in the report. On the motion of Mrs. Smith, seconded by Mrs. Nichols, it was voted unanimously to recommend that the Town Meeting disapprove the article and to approve the report on the article as corrected. The re rt, as corrected, will be PP P Po CQ mailed to Town Meeting Members. Q 88. APPLICATIONS TO BOARD OF APPEALS There was a preliminary discussion of cases to be heard by the Board of Appeals on June 24, 2982. Mr. Bowyer outlined the issues in several cases and the Board indi- cated its preference for recommendation. 80 Bedford Street: SP, change in non -conforming use r The Board thought an office use of the former funeral parlor would have more traffic, on a regular basis, than a funeral parlor. It was agreed to oppose the conversion to office use and to encourage conversion to a residential use. Mellex Road, Kiln Brook V: It was agreed that, in view of the traffic to be generated by this building of more than 100,000 square feet of floor area, the same recommendation given to the Town Meeting for the Cosgrove-Signatron de- velopment should apply in this case. It was agreed that Town Counsel should be requested to give a written opinion as to the effective date and applica- bility of the revision to Section 3.4 of the Zoning By -Law, which was voted as Article 57 of this year's. Town Meeting. fl 89. OPINION ON CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS OF UNACCEPTED STREETS Rockville Avenue, Shea Property: Mr. Sandy requested that the staff review the status of the Shea property, both before the recent sewer construction and after, to determine whether the lot met the "any frontage" provisions of Section 7.4.1a of ' the Zoning By -Law. If so, Town Counsel should be requested to render an opinion in this matter. The meeting was adjourned at 9:10 p.m. n Karsten Sorensen, Clerk
