Planning Board Minutes
Meeting of April 14, 1982
Themeeting of the Lexington Planning Board, held in Room G-15, Town Offices,
was called to order at 7007 p.m. by the Chairman, Mr. Sandy, with members
Nichols, Smith, Sorensen, and Planning Director Bowyer present. Mrs. Uhrig was
attending a meeting with the Board of Selectmen and, joined the meeting during
the discussion of item 59.

0 Article 38, Lexington Center Traffic Study
onQQ Mr. Bowyer outlined the work proposed to be done under a $3,000 consultant con-

tract. After a poll of the Board, it was agreed unanimously to support the
article.
Article 59, Marrett Road near Minuteman School
Larry Smith of Nolan, Norton Company, attorney Dennis Lowe and traffic engineer
Richard Cook of BCS were present to discuss Nolan, Norton's proposal to pbysi-
tally limit 75% of the parking spaces during the peak hours. They showed a plan
indicating which spaces would be physcially limited. Mr. Sandy said he would
' support the article if 85% of the parking spaces were limited for ten years.
Mr. Cook observed that the direction of arrival of nearly all the employees is
from the Route 128 side which would require that, in the morning hour, left
turns be made from Marrett Road into the access road. He questioned whether
that many left turns could be handled in a fifteen minute period but said he
would study the situation further.
Article 61, Hartwell Avenue and Wood Street
Mr. Bowyer reported that Julian Bussgang indicated they were working hard on a
revised plan and should have something before the next scheduled Planning -Board
meeting. Mr. Sorensen indicated he was unhappy with what apparently will be a
one -lot zoning proposal and with the lateness of the submission in light of the
Planning Board's policy on RD/CD zoning amendments and the time allowed for re-
visions.
