HomeMy WebLinkAbout1982-01-04487 Minutes of Planning Board Meeting January 4, 1982 The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board, held in Room G-15, Town Offices, was called to order at 7:35 p.m., by the Chairman, Mr. Sandy, with members Nichols, Sorensen, Wheaton, and Planning Director Bowyer present. Mrs. Smith was attending the Selectmen's meeting and joined the meeting during the dis- cussi'3n of item 3. 1. Approval of Minutes vLO On the motion of Mrs. Wheaton, seconded by Mrs. Nichols, the minutes of the N meeting of December 14, 1981, were approved as written by a vote of 4-0. Q The minutes of the meeting of December 21, 1981, were amended and on a motion by m Mrs. Wheaton, seconded by Mr. Sorensen, were approved, as amended, by a vote of Q 4-0. SUBDIVISION OF LAND 2. Blossomcrest Tract: Special Permit: On the motion of Mrs. Nichols, seconded by Mr. Sorensen, it was voted 3-0 to: 1) Reaffirm the vote taken at the meeting of December 21, 1981, to deny the Special Permit, ' 2) Approve the wording of the decision, as corrected to change dates, and 3) Authorize the Planning Director to sign the decision in behalf of the Board. Mrs. Wheaton abstained as she was not present for the earlier vote. 3. APPLICATIONS TO BOARD OF APPEALS 87 Kendall Road, Jean L. Parr: SP, Use'of Dwellingas Office: It was agreed to make no recommendation on this case. The meeting was recessed at 7:59 p.m. so that Board members could attend an informational meeting conducted by the Board of Selectmen on North Lexington Traffic Improvements. The meeting was reconvened at 9:57 p.m. 459-505 Bedford Street, Lexington Racquet and Swim Club Inc.: SP, Res- taurant: On the motion of Mr. Sorensen, seconded by Mrs. Smith, it was voted unanimously to transmit the recommendation contained in the staff analysis dated December 31, 1981. 1.75-181 Bedford Street, Mark Moore, Jr.: SP. Free-standing signs: After discussion, the consensus of the Board was to make no recommendation. The ,. Board was not pleased with the proliferation of signs at that site. 11 Planning Board Meeting 2 1/4/82485 ARTICLES FOR 1982 TOWN MEETING 4. Dates for Public Hearings on Zoning Articles It was agreed to hold public hearings on zoning articles on Thursday, Feb- ruary 4, Wednesday, February 10, and -Wednesday, February 24. POLICIES, CODIPREHENSIVE PLANNING 5. Traffic and Zoning; in Hartwell Avenue/Bedford Street Area: The Board dis- cussed the presentation and citizens' comments made at the informational meeting conducted by the Board of Selectmen earlier in the evening. Mrs. Wheaton was appointed by the. Board of Selectmen to represent the Planning Board on a five person committee to work with the Town Engineer on the proposal. She will gather information and report back to the Board. REPORTS 6. Annual Report: The Board reviewed a draft of its 1981 Annual Report. Several revisions were suggested. Mrs. Wheaton noted there was no mention of housing; she will draft language on housing to be reviewed at the meeting of January 11. 7. Planning Board Members: It was agreed to hold meetings on January 11 and January 18. The meeting was adjourned at 11:32 p.m. Karsten Sorensen, Clerk
