HomeMy WebLinkAbout1979-01-29L i PLANNING BOARD MEETING January 29, 1979 The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7:40 p.m. by the vice chairman Dr. Friedman with members Nichols, Sandy, Wheaton, planning director Briggs and secretary Mrs. Snow present. Mr. Zabin joined the meeting at 7:48 p.m. Also in attendance was Susan Fisher, Lexington Minute -Man. Draft letter by Mrs. Wheaton and Dr. Friedman to MAPC requesting oppor- BURLINGTON tunity for participation in the preparation of the study of the land- '"LAND/MAPC locked Burlington parcel (as discussed on Jan.22) and reports on its progress was reviewed. Upon a motion duly made and seconded, the letter to MAPC was unanimously approved as amended. At 8:15 p.m., the Planning Board joined the Board of Selectmen for dis- HOUSING STUDY cussion of the December, 1978 Master Housing Plan. BD. SELECTMEN The Planning Board returned to its office at 9:50 p.m. At 9:55 p.m., Roger Corbin, Boston Survey Co., and David Riley and 1050 WALTHAM William King of Haynes Management Corp. met with the Board for presenta- ST. HAYNES tion of a proposal concerning property at 1050 Waltham St. The 5 1/2 MGMT CORP. acre lot now contains an office building (B/A special permit in 1970). They propose to subdivide the lot and construct an additional office building and B/A variance for reduced parking for both buildings will be sought. Parking capacity and needs were discussed. The Planning Board was asked its view on the parking matter. The Board will review the proposal in depth when it has been submitted to the B/A before forming a firm position. Dr. Friedman's draft letter to John Tuttle, listing shortcomings in the WILLOW RIDGE definitive plan for Willow Ridge subdivision was reviewed and approved as amended. The Board reviewed a plan submitted with Application Form A79-1, showing FORM A79-1 the Parker School site divided into two lots. Upon a motion duly made PARKER SCHOOL and seconded, it was unanimously VOTED: The plan entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington, Mass.", by Whitman and Howard, dated January 26, 1979, submitted on January 29, 1979, by Robert M. Hutchinson, Jr., with Application Form A79-1, showing the, Parker School site, requires no approval under the Subdivision Control Law. Recording of the plan will be deferred pending favorable Town Meeting Action on Article 59, the rezoning of the Parker School land. The meeting adjourned at 10:50 p.m. Iris G. Wheaton, Clerk
