HomeMy WebLinkAbout1978-07-10PLANNING BOARD MEETING July 10, 1978 The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7:41 p.m. by the chairman Mr. Zabin with members Sandy, Wheaton, Nichols, Friedman, planning director Briggs and secretary Mrs. Snow present. Minutes of Planning Board meeting of May 15, 1978, were approved as MINUTES 5/15 corrected. Minutes of May 30, 1978, were approved as amended. & 5/30/78 The Board reviewed a plan submitted with Application Form A78-20, pre- FORM A78-20 viously submitted as A78-17, by Harvey Newgent. Letter from Anthony CEDAR/DENVER Mancini, Esquire, on behalf of the petitioner, requesting reconsidera- NEWGENT tion of Planning Board action declaring the lots shown to be unbuildable, was noted. Upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED: The plan entitled "Plan of Land in Lexington, Mass.", dated June 6, 1978, by Miller & Nylander, submitted on June 30, 1978, with Applica- tion Form A78-20, by Anthony Mancini, Esq. for Harvey W. and Jena P. Newgent, showing Lot A and Lot B at Cedar and Denver Streets, re- quires no approval under the Subdivision Control Law. Because the lots shown are non -conforming as to size, the vote was con- ditional upon addition of a notation: "Lots A and B are not buildable lots". At 8:00 p.m., residents of the area of Bicentennial Farms subdivision BICENTENNIAL ' and Dennis Lowe, Esquire, representing Theodore L. Freeman, met with the FARMS Planning Board for continued public hearing on modification of drainage (CONT`D PUBLIC plans for the development. The hearing was closed at 8:50 p.m. HEARING) Board of Health members Dr. Cosgrove, Dr. Erdos, and Mr. Lambie were SEWER MORATOR- present for discussion of the possible lifting of the sewer moratorium IUM imposed by the Board of Selectmen. Based on the discussion, recommenda- tion will be made in a letter to be drafted by Mr. Zabin, that the mora- torium be maintained pending receipt of information concerning the impact of new connections on the existing sewage system. The Board of Health concurs with the Planning Board's recommendation. Later in the evening, the chairman read the draft which was unanimously approved. The Planning Board will be represented at the July 17th meeting when the Board of Selectmen will act on the matter. Letter from Spaulding and Slye Corp. dated June 9, 1978, requesting WINTER ST. decision concerning installation of a traffic signal at Winter and TRAFFIC LIGHT Bedford Streets, and Asst. Town Engineer Martin's 6.19.78 memo asking (DRUMMER BOY) for Planning Board recommendations on the matter were noted. Traffic Signal Needs Study, by Roe P. Hendrick, accompanied the correspondence. It was agreed to delay final decision pending completion of the Drummer Boy development. Mr. Martin will be informed by letter of this decision. Mr. Briggs was asked to arrange an appointment on September 11, for the ZONING ENFORCE - Planning Board with the Board of Selectmen and the Building Commissioner MENT MTG. 9/11 for discussion of enforcement of the Zoning By -Law.
