May 15, 1978
The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7:43 p.m.
by the chairman Mr. Zabin with members Sandy, Friedman, Wheaton, Nichols,
Planning Director Briggs and secretary Mrs. Snow present. Also in atten-
dance was Louis Conrad, Lexington Minute -Man.
The Planning Board will hold regular meetings on each Monday in June. PL. BD. MTG
Summer meeting schedule will be considered at a later date. SCHEDULE
Richard Eaton's letter, received May 8, 1978, requesting Planning Board CONGREGATE
comment on zoning implications of "congregate living" was reviewed, and LIVING
discussed briefly. It was agreed that the concept would require thought-
ful consideration of its broad context, and will be referred to the
Housing Plan Committee, to be formed in the near future.
Board of Appeals notices for May 25 were reviewed. It was voted that B A 5/25

Letters"from Edward Plugis (re Form A78-10) and Peter Farfaris (re FORM A78-10

ning Board addition on notations to plans, were noted. (see Minutes of
May 1, 1978). The notations stated that certain undersized lots on FORM A78-11
Homestead St. are unbuildable. Mr. Zabin will draft responses for FARFARIS
consideration of the Board on May 22, 1978.
' Twenty-one interested citizens were present for discussion of definitive WILLOW RIDGE
plan for Willow Ridge subdivision. Neighborhood..objection..was expressed
to the opening from extended Barrett Rd. to Wellington La. Ave., as shown
on -the revised plan. It was suggested that the cut -through be maintained
with 8 ft. pavement, as a pedestrian path, and used as an emergency access
if necessary. Mr. Tuttle, developer, who was also in attendance, expressed
no objection to the walk-path/emergency access concept. Prior to the
June 12 public hearing on the revised plan, the Fire and Police Chiefs
will be asked for a statement as to the usefulness and adequacy of the
proposed emergency access.
Wm. J. Martin's May 9, 1978, memo, citing safety problem caused by erosion
of the sand hill at Woodpark Estates, and procedures for solution to the
problem were discussed. Modification of the Certificate of Action on
Woodpark Estates, as well as Board of Appeals action to allow removal of
the fill will be necessary before Mr. Lane can recontour within the sub-
division. He is to be informed that the Planning Board will recommend
to the B/A that excess fill resultant from the regrading not be sold but
be taken to the Sanitary Landfill.
