PLANNING BOARD MEETING
June 6, 1977
The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7:30 p.m.
by the chairman Mr. MacKenzie with members Friedman, Wheaton, Clarke, Zabin,
planning director Briggs present. Also in attendance were Richard Magnuson,
D.A.C., and Laura Nichols, Lexington Minute -Man. Two citizens from the
Fern St./Moon Hill area, Messrs Boyajian and Crout, were also present.
Minutes of Planning Board meetings of April 25, May 9, May 16, 1977, were MINUTES 4/25,
approved as amended. Minutes of May 2, 1977, were approved as presented. 5/9,5/16,5/2
The Board reviewed a plan submitted by John J. McSweeney, Dir.,Public FORM A77-14

ition of land at Rte. 128 (Art. 55, 1976) formerly owned by McNamara. MC NAMARA
Upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED: LAND AT R.128
The plan submitted on May 23, 1977, by John J. McSweeney, with Applica-
tion Form A77-14, entitled "Compiled Plan of Land in Lexington, Mass.",
dated February 11, 1977, by John J. McSweeney, Town Engineer, showing
11.4 acres at Rte. 128, requires no approval under the Subdivision
Control Law.
Request from Alfred P. Tropeano, T & N Realty Trust, developer, for amount
of bonding for Vine Brook Estates subdivision, and Asst.Town Engr.Martin's
itemized list of work items, dated May 24, 1977, were noted. Upon a VINE BROOK EST
motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED: BOND
That surety to ensure completion of work at Vine Brook Estates sub-
division be set at $54,000, as recommended by William J. Martin, Asst.
Town Engr.
Mr. Briggs draft letter to the Board of Appeals regarding the Varian/ VARIAN VACUUM
Lexington Vacuum Division petition for expansion of facilities, was re- B A HEARING
viewed and amended to reflect Planning Board concern about possible inade-
quate parking provision. The letter was approved as amended.
The remainder of the meeting was spent in review of Dr, Friedman's draft REVISION OF
revision of the Rules and Regulations Governing the Subdivision of Land. RULES & REGS
Work on these revisions will continue at the next convenient meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 10:30 p.m.
