HomeMy WebLinkAbout1977-03-28PLANNING BOARD MEETING March 28, 1977 The meeting of the Lexington Planning Board was called to order at 7 p.m. by the chairman Mr. MacKenzie, with members Clarke, Friedman, Zabin, Wheaton, planning director Briggs and secretary Mrs. Snow present. Also in atten- dance were John Crowe, D.A.C., and Laura Nichols, Lexington Minute -Man. Mr. MacKenzie reported on his discussion with Stephen Russian, attorney CT ZONE ART. for Ford Motor Co., on suggest revisions to Art. 87 (creation of CT Zone),87 and Mr. Russian's willingness to revise the motion based on Planning Board recommendations. Planning Board support of Article 87 was voted by the majority of the Board. Dr. Clarke's revised report on Articles 87 and 88 (CT Zone articles), was reviewed. Mr. Briggs' draft report on Article 89 (Ford Motor Co. rezoning to CT), FORD MOTOR CO. incomplete as to Planning Board position on the rezoning, was reviewed. BEDFORD ST. Opposition to passage of the Article was voted by the majority of the Board. Minority report will be filed by Dr. Clarke and Mr. MacKenzie. Covenant for Drummer Boy Green Phase II, prepared by Norman Cohen and re- COVENANT viewed by Mr. Briggs, was reviewed and endorsed by the Board. DRUMMER BOY II Discussion continued on the 9 -lot Sherburne Rd. preliminary subdivision SHERBURNE RD. plan submitted by Colonial Development Corp.,and the wet condition of PRELIM. PLAN the site, including the portion on which the road is shown, noted. Upon a motion duly made and seconded, it was VOTED: To disapprove the preliminary subdivision plan entitled "Preliminary DISAPPROVAL Plan of Proposed Lots in Lexington, Mass.", Lots 1 - 9 Sherburne Rd., dated January 18, 1977, by Miller & Nylander, Colonial Development Corp., by Frederick J. Conroy, Esquire, applicant. The reason for the disapproval is as follows: The road as shown on the preliminary plan is partially located in a flood hazard area as designated by the Dept. of Housing and Urban Development on Flood Hazard Boundary Map for Lexington, Massachusetts No. H-07, dated December 12, 1976. The developer will be informed of the Planning Board responsibility to ensure that roads within subdivisions can be adequately constructed. April meeting schedule of the Planning Board was considered. It was APRIL MTG. decided that meetings will be held on April 4 and 6 beginning at 7 p.m., and on April 11 and 25 beginning at 7:30 p.m. The meeting adjourned at 7:59 p.m. Manfred P. Friedman, Clerk
